What is a Cat Behavior Consultant?
There are many different kinds of cat behavior professionals. These have minor differences in name but each have different qualifications. Cat Behaviorist, Veterinary Behaviorist, and Cat Behavior specialists are all veterinarians. I am not a veterinarian, I cannot prescribe medications or offer medical advice BUT I come from a psychological background, account for environmental factors, and can help in ways medicine can’t. To date I have completed over 30 credit hours of International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC) educational courses. I focus on environmental enrichment (“Catification”), classical conditioning/ clicker training, and the overall picture of feline wellness. I am a member of the IAABC and am an Associate Certified Cat Behavior Consultant (ACCBC). It is recommended that Certified members have four years of experience. I will have three years in 2021 and will take the full certification exam at the end of that year.

Feedback from Clients
“Haley was incredibly attentive, knowledgeable and genuinely seemed to care about the people she consults and their furry companions. It’s obvious she has spent a significant portion of her life on the welfare of animals, and it shows. She listened to everything I had to say (which was a lot), gave me some insight of my cats and how they see these situations, and instructed me in such a way that I feel confident how to assess other situations like them in the future.”
“We are very pleased with Haley’s attention to detail and empathy concerning our situation. Without her we probably would have ended up rehoming one of our cats. We are eternally grateful to her for providing us with knowledge, tools, and skills that are going to allow us to achieve harmony in our household.”
“Haley was great! Had 3 behavioral issues/questions about the 10yr old Tabby I’d adopted a few months ago, and she concluded from those an answer that made a lot of sense, given his past. She recommended some ideas that already seem to be helping, but will better show their impact longer term (we just talked last week). After we addressed the issues, she also shared some general good tips/tricks for a new cat owner like me.”
